An alternative to Niagara Launcher.
Niagara is a good launcher, and Palma shares the idea: one list, one hand, less on your screen. This is where they differ.
| Palma | Niagara | |
|---|---|---|
| Thumb zone | Everything you tap in the lower half | One list of favourites and an alphabet, for one hand |
| Fold postures | Closed, open and half open, each with its own layout | Own layout for the inner screen, no half-open posture |
| Privacy | No account, no ads | No ads; anonymous usage reports, can be turned off |
| Price | Free in beta, a Pro version later | Free; Pro €9.99 a year or €29.99 one-off |
| Family apps | Camera, music, clock, calculator and games in the same style | None |
| Updates | Own updater, outside Play, signed | Via Google Play, beta also as an APK |
What they do better
- Niagara and Nova have been around for years, are on Google Play and have a large community. That trust is something we still have to earn.
- Nova lets you customise truly everything. Palma deliberately chooses less: seven favourites, one design language.
- Niagara's Theme Studio has themes made by users. That is why we are now starting a style gallery: /en/styles.
To the best of our knowledge on 24 October 2026. Something not right? Email us and we will fix it.
You don’t have to switch in one go: keep Niagara and try Palma next to it. You can always go back via Android’s default apps.
